Message: They remove drag on the engine and allow a little more power to be put to the wheels. From what've I've read they do have a hard time keeping our engines cool, except for the Flex-A-Lite Black Magic, which I'm installing soon (Christmas present from Mom). I'll also buy and install a 16" fan and put it in front to help in the cooling.

Message: Boomer could you take pictures of your install because I'd really like to see how everything works. Also do you have the 4.7?
Thanks for post... I knew SOMEONE would have some information.

Message: Sorry about the dely in the reply. I'll find a way to get pics for the install. I have the 5.2, but the install should be nearly the same. Basically all you're doing is removing the factory eng dirven fan and the fan shroud. Installing the unit is per the directions which by the looks of it should be easy. The hard part is the electrical stuff, I think.
I should get the fan just after Christmas and install it shortly there after, depending on how the weather is in Jersey.

Message: You guys might want to reconsider the electric fan. It is NOT enough to cool our engines all the time. If you are running the air or driving hard, IT WILL HEAT UP!! The other day I was climbing a long steep hill in 4-Low and it got a little warm by the time I reached the top with the temp only being about 60 degrees!! In most normal driving conditions it works fine, and it does free up a considerable amount of power but I would wait until there is a better twin fan setup for our trucks.
Hope this helps

Message: I know they have alot of fans available.. if they are made for our trucks or not.. We should be able to find one that pushes more air then the stock fan.... Should be able to...

Message: My plans are this. My Christmas present is the Black Magic 150(hopefully she understood right!) and another 16" fan for the front as well. The two will be wired on 2 different switches. The 150 will be auto (for the most part) when the ac is on or temp x is reached. The back on will also be for the ac being on, but other than that, I'll be in control of it. IF I have to, I'll drop down to a 165 thermo stat, right now with the 180 it runs about 190 on hard driving in 90 weather. Sometime this coming summer I'll add the eng oil cooler as well (along with the oil filter relocation kit). Between al that I should be ok as far as cool engine goes.
The radiator is a little small for being a V-8 and I wish I could fit a Ram's in or possibly an aftermarket with more volume.

Message: I just talked to a guy that added a 2nd oil filter that filters down to 1 micron and addes adds another quart of oil in there I'm going to have to look into that.

Message: The double filter sounds good. I wonder what kinda strain it puts on the pump? I do like the idea of more oil though.
