I have a 93 Dakota with auto tranny and NP231 t-case. I notice that where the rear drive shaft enters the t-case, there is a leak. I see that cone shaped part that stick out to accept the driveshaft is bolted on to the main part of the t-case. Is it possible for me to remove this and put in a new seal or will alot of small parts fall out?

DO you have a Chilton's or Haynes? In there they tell you some technical repair info. I don't think you would, but I really can't say. Hopefully it is as simple as removing the rear seal and putting in a new one. But I seriously doubt it, if it was my truck anyway.
