Message: I was talking to some friends of mine that are sheriffs last night. They were telling me that there is some guy down in Cortland that lets people use his land to go four wheeling. Supposedly he has something close to a couple thousand acres. They were going to try to find out for me.

Message: What kinda light bar you using? must hang down below bumper some. As long as you had fun and got to pull some of the "other" brands outta the mud! BTW, what year is your Dak and any mods?

Message: I have a 99 x-cab 4x4 5.2. Stock except for the msd ignition, and k&n air filter. The Light bar was a westin safari bar. Nothing expensive. Looked under the truck today and saw that I bent the crossbar that the lower a-arms attach to. Nothing big, gonna cange it to a straight axle in the spring.

Message: Yeah, those Safari Bars don't hold up very well, look good but offer no front end protection and are really flimsy if push up against anything. Had one on my 99 RC Dak. What the heck did you land on to bend your front crossmember? Musta felt that through the whole truck:) Just as a thought, If your crossmember for your front suspension is noticably bent that's gonna throw off your alignment camber and could cause some problems in the longterm(decreased life on the frontend components and tires) not to mention decrease front end traction as the contact patch for the tires is reduced with camber out of factory specs. Since you are going with a straight axle conversion, it might not matter anyway. I just ordered the factory skidplate package for my truck, it only protects the transfer case and gas tank though.

Message: Ok, how about some cool 'legal' off-roading spots in the lower Hudson Valley of NY?
I know some great (not legal) spots in Putnam county, and 1 legal spot at Mt Ninham in Carmel (when the gate is open), anywhere else?
Thanks.
