Subject: Stuck with P235's IP: Logged
Message: I just got back from the truck shop and the told me I could pay almost $4,000 for a suspension lift or less for a body lift. I don't want to do either one so I guess I am stuck with the P235's I got now. I plan on stepping up to a good A/T tire like a set of BF-Goodrich A/T's. My question is what disadvantages do I have with a smaller tire besides the loss in ground clearance? Will the A/T's I mentiond perform o.k. for light to medium offroading(i.e. hill climbing, shallow mudding, etc.)?

Message: I have a '87 4x4 dakota. 3.9l V-6 with 15" rims
wrapped with BFG A/T-31x 10.50. I love the looks of the tires, but they turned my truck into a "BEASTIE GAS HOGG" I spend 30-45 dollars a week on gas just driving to school and work. They did rub a little when I turn up on hills, but I fixed that with a little chopping off of the inside corner of the fender. Also cut some off the black trim underneath the bumper. Other than that, With these Tires I have only had to use 4 wheel drive ONCE! But I don't go in 3ft of mud either.

Message: I have BFG AT OK 30X9.5x15's on my cherokee and
love them. They are a little bit louder than the
Mitchelens ATs but have a ton of traction!

Your truck would sit about 1" higher
It would rev about 150 rpm less at 55mph

Message: My buddy and I both have 2000 quad 4x4's and we run 32x11.50's on the stock rims. I have BFG AT's and he has Dunlop AT's. Both are great and have no rubbing anywhere, even at full flex on the suspension.

Message: Do the newer body style Dakotas have more ground/tire clearance from the factory than the older style Dakotas(93)?
