Message: I am from southern cali where the lift craze began. I am here to warn everyone about the Whiplash Lift kits. I have a 2000 silverado with the 8" whiplash kit and i have had nothing but problems with it. Not one shop in Southern Cali can align it because of the amount of play in the drop down brackets that hold on the upper control arms. They sway back and forthabout 3/8 of an Inch. My tires have never worn right because the alignment can never be fixed. The play in the drop down brackets is like changing the camber all the time so when i am driving and i go down a slope my truck will just all the sudden stear to the left. Because of the play with the drop down brackets the chasis has developed numerous amounts of cracks. There are some of you that say you havn't seen proof of Whiplash kits going bad email me and ill show you pictures of the cracking. I have also had problems with my cv joints... I have to replace them constantly it wears them down in about 3 months. The lift kit is also rusting they put a thin coat of paint on it. I can no longer go offroading because I am afraid that the chasis will crack all the way through it is about 3 inch's long right now. Stay away from whiplash even though it is guarenteed for life the chasis to your truck isn't. I am gettin a custom 10" lift built by a suspension company out in riverside that is highly recongnized.. they have had a couple cover trucks in offroad magazine and truckin magazine. Oh and to the previous post.. Whiplash keeps all your stock componets they do not give you new control arms just the drop down brackets. The steering design is also horrible. My friend has the same lift on an 94 Chevy and his steering has seized while offroading. Ive found that nothing good comes out of these lift kits.. Stay away from them!

Message: FYI,
I just got an email form Justin, the owner of Cognito Motorsports. He let me know that Griffen was an initial investor, but no longer a part of his company. Like I said, the lift looked good to me, but the owner was the question. Well, question answered and once again, I would recomend there lifts. Good luck with all you guys.

Message: I have a durango with the tuff country 5.5 inch and 35's and i take it in as recommended every 500 to 1000 miles for retorque and alignment but everything stays nice and tight without needing any adjustments. I recomend this kit to anyone especially durango owners since the rear leaves go under the axles for which they designed an axle flip with drop down hangers (no blocks or leaves required). Les Schwab Tires installed it for only $420 and the kit has been recently revised unlike the magazine ads which give you the option for rear leaves (super long leaves under the axle that caused vibration problems) or blocks and flip kit. This kit rides close to stock slightly firmer due to shocks with less body roll.

Message: I have got the whiplash 10 kit with a 3 inch body lift on my 2k Z71. I used to live out where they originate. The guys there are really cool. although I have had a few of the welding problems for the front diff drop down brackets and the welding on them. I sent them a cracked one and they sent me a new one instantly. They have redesigned the steering arms for this model and they also offer new upper control arms. I suggest to all those who want to go big , ie..38" or bigger, do a total evaluation of parts needed. I eneded up tighting my front end with new reinforcements. I went off a 5' ditch and nothing on the kit broke but i did bust a cv axle.
