What's the Easiest, cheapest, but also safe way to lift my 01 Dakota 2 or 3 inches?

I know some models have the torsion bars that can be cranked in the front...but I'm no mechanic, does a 01 SLT 4x4 have those? Also, for the back how about some add-a-leafs? (I have an SLT Plus with the Tire and Handling package)

I don't want huge tires or anything ... what it came with (265-70-R16) are fine...

OR -- would a truck lifted 2-3 inches look stupid with stock tires / wheels?

Thanks for your advice and for taking your time with a person who's new to all this.

Might want to do some reading... like on the Raised Dakotas board. But because I'm bored @ work again.. Easiest way is to do a 3" body lift from Performance Accessories part # PER60043 it costs about $200. You can do it your self it takes a whole weekend. You need at least a good jack , torque wrench, & gatorade. Follow the directions and you should be fine. If you want to see a walk threw of a walk threw of how he did it is available @ http://dakota2.4mg.com/body_lift.htm THIS IS FOR A 1998 NOT A 2001 it will be different.
I think that's all the info you need...

We are here to help eachother but first read some of the other posts before you post something that asks the same as a post before it.

Hey, is your truck a 2wd or 4x4. And the 3.9 or 4.7 or 5.9L? Makes a ton of diif on your lift application. The body lift would be easy to do and no matter what people have said, I have a trailmaster 3in body lift and I love it. If its a 2wd, go to www. truckn.com, or Fabtech. Good luck anyhow.
