Message: I was just reading about the warping rear breaks which made me think.. If we go with bigger tires shouldn't we be getting oversized breaks anyway? If you guys have thought about this.. Have you found any aftermarket brakes that you could recomend?

Message: Are you sure its the rear brakes that are warping? my front driver's side disc is warping. In answer to your question, yes you should upgrade your brakes along with everything else.

Message: Has anyone out there considered a disc brake conversion for the rear?? It can be an expensive alternative, but it's one solution. Check out Stainless Steel Brake Company. They're offering a kit right now for Dakotas (the application guide shows '94-'99, but another source told me the kits for '00 and up are available).
Off hand, I don't know of a better quality replacement for the drums. So far, all my time and effort has gone into improving the front brakes! At 22K, my rear brakes are still doing alright.
