Message: I think everyone's been wondering the same thing. Just thought I'd post a new thred to check in. The only thing I can think of is that everyone ran out of $$ :(. But heh what ever if that's the case then we all need to go out & play in the mud :-) It just rained here in Tx. I have 3 extra beds.. GAH I ment to ask you guys.. have any of you gone off roading w/ the Wrangler RT/S? Personally I think they suck but I haven't gotten stuck yet then again I haven't gone threw anything major either. What do you guys think those tires can handle if you've tried?

Message: As a matter of fact I just asked the same question on Mike's body lift thread. Been awful quiet lately. I took a bath and used deordorant, I promise!
As for the RT/S, the only thing I ever found them to be any good in was the sand at the beach. They did do pretty well there, but other than that they stunk. I have a set of 31x10.50 15's with about 65% or so of their tread left at home if anyone is interested. Going cheap.

I'm happy with the Wrangler RT/S tires and have never understood why they gather so many complaints. I've got over 50,000 miles on the original set and expect to get several thousand more.
I've driven them off road on deep snow, sand dunes, broken rock, loose dirt, solid granite, mud, gravel, and dirt roads. It is very rare for me to spin a tire. The limiting factor on this truck isn't traction, it's ground clearance; specifically the breakover angle.

Message: I'm here, just been working a whole lot lately. By the way, Hawkeye...I keep meaning to call or e-mail you. Even though work is absolutely nuts right now, I need to get away at some point soon. I still want to come up to Jacksonville and drool on your truck.

Message: I'm here too. My truck is so dirty it LOOKS as though I've been offroading, like it rolled in the mud. Nothing but rain for days. Working, working, working, taking a break then back to work. Hard drive died today, taking with it some files that I have to have for Wed. edition, guess what I'LL be doing all night. Bought some goodies for my truck, new wires, autolites, TB (hopefully get them ON the truck before the new year). Sorry to hear about your accident Andrew.

Message: I have been stuck with the wrangler RT/S tires twice. Can't stand the things (they don't grip dry cement, or wet cement, or snow, or work off0-road [just my opinion of course]).
As soon as I can save up the money (probaly sometime around next summer) I am going to put a 3" Body Lift on and a pair of better tires (probaly 33"'s)

Message: Well I decided to just test those RT/S tires instead of taking someones word on it... I found a Chevy w/ 33's and some TSL knock off tires who was broken down helped him get his truck up and running.. *heh you'd think those 2 rednecks would have realized all they needed was a jump* Anyway they had a tow strap so I figured what the heck. I followed him threw some DEEP mud came up over my hood & 1/2 way up the door. Didn't even think about getting stuck once. Even thought that Chevy cam CLOSE that was fun. Oh btw there was a Toy out there to but he would have eaten me for lunch. He just droped a brand new 350 in it man that thing was still sparkeling. What about his tires you ask? heh small ones 39x18.5x15. So if I wanted to test those tires what about following him? He didn't play in the mud w/ that truck. He pulled a R/C out of the back of his truck and drove that around the area... now that was odd. Anyway I'll have some pictures posted of my muddy truck soon and if I can get my video camera to like my computer I might have a short video clip also.

Message: 31x10.5" Pro Comp A/T's. I could have gotten 32's but I wanted no rubbing and its not lifted. I think my torsion bars are done for anyway so I cant crank them up. I saw a write up about my tires in the latest 4 wheel parts wholesale magazine and they really excel on wet pavement. They did the worst on slick rock offroad and for some reason they didnt test them in mud or snow. I hope thats not a bad sighn.
