This may sound like a stupid question but... Does a 3". suspension lift give you 3 more inches of suspension travel, or just raise the truck 3"

Just raises the truck 3 inches. Your bump stops and everything get lowered. Only thing that a susp lift gives you that a body lift doesnt is that it lifts the frame up giving you a better breakover angle.
