Message: I have been looking at the picks of your body lifts and all I can say is that they look like sh!t. Especially the guys who left their side steps on. What do you gain anyways except the ability to put on a tire an inch and a half taller. You guys definitely should have waited for the suspension lift. Or better yet, bought a truck with a solid front axle so you would have a real 4X4 with the ability to articulate the suspension.
Losers!!!

Message: Do you own my truck? Oh yeah, that's what I thought. I'll do what I want with my money. From the sound of your post you either drive a Ram, Ford, or even worse a Toyota. So you have wasted your money, but most likely your parents money, or you re-financed the trailer for the third time. The body lift actually does do something too. The larger tires allow more ground clearance. Suspension lifts do nothing for ground clearance, the tires increase clearance. MAybe you should read and learn more before you accuse people of being stupid.

Message: You're the idoit!!! Suspension lifts do tons for ground clearance. Lets see...you go from a 31" tire to a 33" tire. How much ground clearance did you gain? Try about an inch moron!!! Put on a suspension lift and you can gain from 4" to 6". Which would allow you to put on a 35" tire. Oh Yeah!!! I don't have to read...cause I already know more than all you dumbsh!ts with your mighty BODYLIFTS. I bet you wish you could hang with my RAM (6.5" lift with 38's), and my 5.9 rocks over your piss ant 4.7.

Message: For some of us the body lift is a stepping stone to a true suspension lift.... either in addition to or replacement of. And a 3" suspension lift will not allow you to run 35" tires on a Dak.
And, "biggie" ... my 5.9 will hang with your 5.9 any day of the week. I happen to like Ram's just fine ... but somehow or another I don't think I like YOURS! hehehe
You sound like someone who really NEEDS a 4x4. What? Do you accidentally run over a few curbs on your way to the psychiatrist and need the extra ground clearance?

Message: Just for your FYI micro, I mean Biggie, A susp lift will do NOTHING to get your rear axle off the ground. If you look at a susp lift it lifts everything up off the axles. The axle itself is still sitting in the same place. The only way to gain more clearance under that axle is with taller tires. Really the only differance between a body lift and a susp lift is a susp lift raises the frame up and a body lift raises everything but the frame. Sorry man I have been in with lifts for too many years. Most of us would rather have had a susp lift in all honesty. Its not our choice that no one is making one and if and when they do it will be VERY expensive. We just dont want to wait around hoping that someone will make a lift for us. A body lift is much more affordable for those of us who have families and bills and dont still live with mama and daddy and arent still nursing off of mama's chest for dinner every night. Please, I beg of you, send us a picture of your truck so that when any of us are off road we can look for it and when we find you stuck somewhere because you have more tread than sense and your mighty 38's have dug themselves into a bigger hole than they are capable of getting out of, we will be sure to smile and pass you on by. And please tell me that you dont ever get stuck. Enjoy your truck now jr woodchuck because if you ever get a new Ram you will be in the same boat as the rest of us when it comes to lifts, maybe even worse off than we are. Guess I should have had my coffee before checking the boards this morning.

Message: Rams are overweight Dakotas. Until they are offered with larger motors than the Dakota, that's all they'll ever be. All of you Dakota owners with 31s through 33s, and with or without a lift (body or suspension), have darn fine vehicles in my opinion. Styling, comfort, and its power-to-weight ratios are some of the best around.

Message: I have 33x12.50R-15 Goodyear MT/R tires on my stock 15x8 aluminum wheels. The back edge of the tires rub the frame, and the inner fender lining, at full steering lock when you hit a big bump. I also trimmed a 1" wedge of plastic off of the back edge of the front bumper. It looks very professional and you have to know where to look to see that it is different than a stock front bumper.
I have no lift on the truck at all right now. Although I would like to add a custom 1" body lift in the next little while, just to keep the rocker panels up out of the way a little more.

Message: All I can say is you must have a very special '00 Quad Cab! Do the Goodyear's measure a true 33"? Or are they like some other manufacturers that advertise a 33" tire that really measures closer to 32"?
Interesting ... \:)

Message: I did mention the tires rub, didn't I?
They measure 32 3/4" tall. I just spent the last ten minutes looking for a picture of my truck with these tires on, but cannot find one. I must have deleted it because I didn't think I would need it anymore. That's what I get for thinking.
And there is nothing all that special about my '00 Dodge Dakota quad cab 4x4. It had the 31" tire package from the factory. It also has the 5.9 V-8, the lower axle ratio (??? 3.92:1), and the trailer towing package. It's Intense Blue, with the light silver color along the rocker panels. It even has the optional warped brake rotors. You know, that option that shows up at about 12,000 miles.

Message: Nice pic, Doc. I wasn't knocking you, if that's what you're thinking. I just thought it was wild that a stock '00 quad cab could fit 33x12.50's. My '01, with similar options as yours, barely runs 32x12.50 Mickey's. They rub pretty bad in reverse even with the 3" body lift.

Message: no matter what lift you put in the only way to get more clearence is bigger tires , thats the only way to raise the lowest point (rear differential)the only thing a suspension lift will do that a body lift wont do is help you out if you are going over large mougles, you will not high center as easily with a suspension lift,
and with some body lifts i dont liek the way the frome looks like it hangs so low, and if i put a body lift on mine it would habg really low and the engine would hange very low in the front, so im donna have to go with a suspension lift (and yes i am capable of making my own up to almsot 3" cuz im a cheap bas****)
