Hi guys so I just got this '92 dakota 4x4 CC its
got 170k mileage, I recently went wheelin in the
mountains and out of nowhere going up a steep
inbankment the 4lo quit, but not just 4lo, it
wouldnt engage 4hi either, i ended up getting
towed home by a buddy, now i am stuck, i am a
mechanic for the army deal with 4x4's alot, almost
every type, but this one has got me puzzled beyond
belief. So I jack standed all 4 tires off the
ground, went through normal OP procedures to
engage 4x4, got nothing, vacuum on front diff
works, fork moves in and out, mind you i went
through and replaced every vacuum line when I got
this truck knowing they are notorious for
problems, but anyway, transfer case engages,
plenty of fluid but front driveline wont turn
with tcase, if turning front driveline by hand the
front axles roll with it, i have not taken apart
the tcase but the ATF is still clean red, and full
to bottom of filler, so if there is something i am
missing I could really use some helpful hints or
fingers in the right direction, cause this is my
daily driver and I cant afford to drop the tcase
and be out of a truck for more than a few hours,
im always on call, being a mechanic for the
military there is always something new broken that
needs to be recovered, so if there might be a
simple fix that wont take long please help me out,
