Subject: 2" Coil Spacers IP: Logged
Message: Hello everyone. I have a question regarding my 1998 Dodge Dakota. It's 2WD, 5spd, 4-cyl. I bought two 2" spacers for the front springs but I have no idea how to install them. I've tried removing the tire and checking out if maybe you could compress the spring and stick it under there but got no luck. I jacked it up by the control arm but it seems the ball joint might be in the way of it. Can someone explain maybe how to do this?

Message: Maybe this will help? Not sure what brand you bought, but I would guess the process to be the same.

Message: OK. So you bought a 2" spacer. You probably don't know why.
You want to install it. You definitely don't know how.
What's wrong with this picture....
Geez folks. Do some research first.

Message: you should be able to get around 5 inches of lift with a 2inch spindle and a 3inch spacer. that way the steering is really only compensating for the 3 inches of lift that the spacer provides. The spindle only changes where the hub goes the tie rods and such still attach at the same place. correct me if i'm wrong but it should work.

Message: I was wondering that too. does anyone know if say I were to get the doetsch 3 inch kit with the uppers, coils, shackles, and shocks, with the 4.5 inch wheel backspacing if I can stack a 2 inch coil spacer and an add a leaf on top of the doetsch lift? I have a 2002 cc, 4.7l.
thanks
