Subject: What bushings to replace?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hey guys.
I've got a 2001 QC 4x4 and I've just hit 160K km (100k miles)
The ride is pretty squeaky, rough and loose these days (slightly
chatters or skips on rough surfaces). Whats bushings should I be
focusing on? Control arms/ sway bars?
Is there any particular materials/rubber I should go for?

I'm looking at these

I've got some new shocks waiting to go in as well.

Thanks
Sean

Options:
1. Replace it all...
-upper control arm bushings
-lower control arm bushings
-sway bar ends
-upper ball joints
lower ball joints
-outer tie rod end (you have rack-n-pinion, right?)

2. Replace what is needed...
-specific components that are actually bad

Replacement options also include going back to rubber bushings or polyurathane...the latter needs to be greased periodically, and will still creak in cold weather...at least mine do.

Good luck!
