 Subject: Electronic 4x4 Selector

Hi Everyone,
I'm getting selling my '88 4x4 to my father-in-law and looking at '96-2000 extra cab 4x4's. I had been staying away from '01 & newer because of the electronic switch for engaging the 4-wheel drive. Has anyone had issues with their selector switch to justify ruling these out or should I consider them as well? I've never liked the idea of electronics engaging (or not) your 4x4 system. I just don't want to rule out a good newer truck if that selector is really reliable and always engages when you tell it to.
