Subject: 2004 V8 suspension upgrade IP: Logged
Message: I've got a 2004 4x4 that I plan on taking into the bush for work. I
don't think the factory suspension would handle a couple months
of the pounding it will take. Can anybody suggest a couple cost
effective things I could do to toughen it up.
I'm not looking to do any serious off-road. I'll drive around all the
obstacles I can. But I follow drill rigs around and usually the roads
are harsh, just bulldozed forest sometimes.

Message: I wouldn't recommend doing any type of torsion lift, You would probably be best off doing a body lift with bigger tires to help get over small logs and what not. Any torsion bar lift would tighten up the suspension and you would lose front end droop(tires going down) and it would ride a lot stiffer.
Doing a body lift will keep the stock suspension at its best, maybe upgrade your shocks, body lift with bigger tires and you should be set.
Wheel 'til it breaks!
