Message: Mine stuck out about 1.5" with the 79 F150 front Dana 44 axle using 35X12.5X17 tires on rims with 4.5" backspace. I use a set of stock F150 wheels to pass inspection every year. Not only will you need smaller tires to clear the wheel wells but also the amount of lift. I probably have 6" of suspension lift after doing the swap, any higher and the coils start to bow out. Also the driveline angles get too steep.
