Chilton and Haynes do not really get into 4X4 troubleshooting.
My problem is intermittent sluggish performance when in 4 high. The truck feels like you have a chock under the wheel, and it even kills the engine. It has done this since new, and of course the dealer couldn't get it to do it, or didn't know what to do.
Does anyone have an idea for me as to where I can start to figure this out?

Message: It's done this since new in 2002? you should have taken it to another dealer. Probably the best bet now is a reputable transmission shop.

Message: Yeah, I should have. But you don't understand. No one touches this truck. I get the tires done, I take em off, they mount em, balance em, and I put em on the truck. That's how anal I am about my truck. I want to fix this myself.
Being intermittent I thought maybe it could be something electrical. Possibly someone might have some insight on this.
