Subject: Prob with the fron? IP: Logged
Message: dak sport 01 4x4 quad cab
I recently had tires balanced and rotated, front end alignment, and had to have the alignment re-done 2 other times within 2 days.It kept slipping... Not sure why, and we had to over correct it to the right so it would not pull left.. it still pulls left a bit.
Now there is a womping sound, comming from under neath and it is even harder of a sound when i turn right. whomp..whomp..whompp,
The ride is horrible and always has been,
could it be bearrings going? cv joint? or something else with the fron end?
Thanks

Message: It means to take it somewhere else for a proper alignment. Preferably to an alignment specialist.

Message: It's probably a wheel bearing. Get the tire in the air with the suspension unloaded. Start checking to see what's loose.
Don't take it back to those monkeys. They're just blindly changing the settings without checking anything out.

Message: Yes, this is what jack stands are designed for.
Grap the tire at 3 and 9 o'clock. Gently move them back and forth. They shouldn't move. If you feel a click or bump, there's a problem. Now grab the tire and 12 and 6 o'clock and do the same thing.
Yes, CV needs to be regreased an a new boot installed. That's a pain in the neck. DO NOT use the quick fix booth that wraps around the axle and then has a seam. It will leak and tear. You'll have to remove the axle and slide a new boot over the end.
Spark Plugs: Autolite copper core. Standard heat range. Replace every 40K miles
Ball Joints: Moog or TRW.
O2 Sensor: Bosch
