Subject: Transfer Case Shifting IP: Logged
Message: For no particular reason, I went out and tried to put my transfer case in Neutral. It's a part time NV233, with the rotary switch on the dash. Not the full time AWD.
I tried it with the trans in P, N, and D. Engine on and off. Sometimes it will blink, and sometimes not. But it won't switch over.
The owners manual says to look in the recreational towing section; which isn't in my owners manual. The factory service manual doesn't help, either.
What's the trick?
2001 QC, 5.9, auto.

Message: The motor home towing guide says the 2001 can be towed flat. Go here and get the PDF for a 2004 Dakota. My 2002 uses the same procedure and might work for you. You are correct...the Service manual does not tell you how to do that.
