Subject: off road light wiring? IP: Logged
Message: i got a light bar that mounts on the roof to the gutters of the truck and i need to know if any of you know a good way to wire them into the cab to the switch. i dont want wires hanging anywhere so i was thinking somehow going through the weather stripping???? any suggestions would help thanks

Message: My guess is your 'gutter clamps' are designed to grab the 90deg. edge of the cab at the top. Much like on the 70s & 80s GMs.
I would suggest running the wires to the drivers door (top corner), then under the doors weather stripping and under the interior panels (overhead or along the lower door sill). The lower sill and kick panel can be easier to access. That 'A' pillar cover slides upward to remove, and can be a bit tuff to get off. You may have a little wire showing getting into the door. Not much you can do about that, just minimize it the best you can. Hope this helps.
And yes, there is a 'guttering system'(water channeling)...it's just not external like old rigs. I believe it is designed to allow water to flow under those strips on the top of your cab and along the upper edge of the door moulding and down the front.
