Message: Unscrew the old one and screw the new one in. It's a simple unit with a threaded end. Looks kind of like an oil pressure sending unit but has 4 vacuum hoses connected to it. The fitting with the hoses are keyed to only go on one way.

Message: thanks walt for the info. can this unit be disassembled and be serviced or cleaned. mine seems to be sticking because when i shift back to 2wd it wont shift and the indicator lite stays on. in order for me to get it to shift back to 2wd,i tap the switch with a hard object and the lite will go out and sure enough it will be on 2wd.

Message: No, it's a self contained unit. You just change the whole piece.
