Message: When did the dakota get the ifs suspension... because im thinking about getting a 91 to 96 dakota b/c lifts for my 99 are to expensive and ive heard bad things about most of them.. so what year should i get to have a solid axle b/c i know i like the 91's to 96's better than my 99. If there is any way you can help me with this situation i would love the help.

Message: Dakotas have always had IFS. I will agree that the Tough Country and Truckin Suspension lifts are junk, but who ever is talking bad about the Rancho 3in is full of $hit. That is what I have on my truck I can't be happier with it.

Message: I was looking at buying an S10 blazer/jimmy because the lift kits were so cheap and there's a ton of aftermarket parts for them. I haven't done that yet.
still contemplating getting rancho 3" lift on my truck or trading it in and getting a full size. So many more options for aftermarket parts on full size than dakotas.

Message: want a cheap lift
buy a 1993 or older Ram
lift kit is jsut add-a-leafs and a lift block in the back
i think a 4" kit costs around $400-$500 with shocks

Message: I had the rancho, it is a good lift for a daily driver and occasional light wheeling. If you want real offroad preformance you need a solid axle. I ran the rancho lift for 1 year before I ripped it off to SAS my truck.
