Subject: Determine lift? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 95 Dakota sport that i bought used. It came with a light bar, some good knobbies, and what appears to be a small lift on it. It seems pretty consistent with the truck so i think it may be stock (if thats a possible option). Anyway im looking to buy new shocks and therefore would like to know how much high the lift is above stock. How might i find that out?

Message: If you have spacers at each body mount (body lift) it has no bearing on the shocks, the body has been raised off the frame. The suspension is still original.
If you have a suspension lift, you already have aftermarket shocks installed. There is only one company that has mass produced a suspension lift(4 inches)...Trailmaster. Unless you have spacers between your bumpstops and frame mounts...and what appears to be brackets bolted on vice welded on the front end, I doubt you have a suspension lift. There was no optional lift. That doesn't mean a dealer did not install one, just unlikely.
