Message: Sorry Dave for the late reply Dave. I sold my '92 Dakota in Oct. 2007. I really do miss that truck. Anyways, I played around with a few ideas including a manual pull cable to engage the front axle. I was also thinking about buying a kit for a posi-lok kit for a YJ with a 3" lift and modifying it. I ended up picking up a '93 and up front axle without CAD from a local junk yard. It was cheaper than buying a new posi-lok for a YJ. I didn't notice a difference in fuel consumption, and I have a reliable set up. Just remember to remove and plug the the old sketchy vacuum lines. With the new front axle in place, I had all kinds of room to install the Tie Rod drop down bracket and sleeves from the 4" Trailmaster lift. After adjusting the torsion bars, the tie rods are at a greater angle, are more prone to failure and increased bump steer. Dont forget to check and adjust/modify both upper and lower front bump stops when maxing out torsion bars.
