Message: Know nothing about that particular tire. Been running the BFG A/T KOs on my '95. More plys (damage resistant) and they have a lip to protect the rim. I do know you can easily fit a 31x10.5R15 tire on the stock Gen IIs. Possibly even a 32x11.5R15, although there are fewer to choose from.

Message: You will not get 31x10.50 Swampers to fit on a stock 2nd gen 30x9.50s probably would fit ok. I had 30x9.50 Yokohama Geolander M/Ts on my 92 and they were VERY close to the back of the fenderwell when turning off road, it looked like plenty of room on the road but when I worked it a little down some trails and got the suspension moving it got tighter real quick.
I know that if you are looking at a Super Swamper you wouldn't even give an all-terrain a second look but before you buy a BFG All-Terrain T/A look at the General Grabber AT2 they are FAR more reasonable in price and they look nearly identical! I have them on my 99 Dak 4x4: www.cardomain.com/ride/2855458

Message: Should have been more specific.
I had Kelly Safari AWT's 31x10.5R15 on my '95 ext cab. They rubbed (slightly) on the driver side, front frame at full turn. Just wore paint off. No rubbing on fenders, no matter how much tire stuffing I did. I did level it by adjusting my torsion bars. The Kellys were on it for 3 years. By Eye balling, I felt I could have put on 32X11.5s, of course with rubbing on the frame at full lock...not a big deal to me. Instead I did the whole body lift, suspension lift with the American Eagle 589s (one of the strongest wheels available at 3,250lbs per wheel) and went to the 33" BFGs.
The BFGs are one of the best built tires on the market. I put a 2" cut into the sidewall of one of mine...(you could flap the first layer) and drove it another year'n-a-half! The re-inforced edge completely covers the rims lip. Sliding off a rock, log or dirt embankment...the edge "almost" garauntees you won't ding a rim or get debris in the bead. Maybe that is why they have won baja 20 out of 21 races? No, I'm not bashing the other tires, and no, I would stack the AT against the Super Swamper (in the mud at least). BFGs do tend to have a higher cost, but you get your money's worth. I recently put on my 2nd set. My needs are a tire that is well mannered on the road, but will not leave me calling for help when getting a deer home or getting to the fishing spot no one goes to (for obvious reasons). I believe someone else on here uses them to plow snow. To each his own on tire choices. Just make sure besides 'looking good', it does what you want it to.
Good luck.

not to upset anyone here on the dakota board but my truck from looks alone is a pile of junk.(lots of rust) so we only use it to crush stumps! no need for
a 99mph tire we crawl @ about 7mph through illinois woods

Message: kakes, the stock tire size for the Dakota, well for the earlier models was a 235/R75-15 a 28 1/2 inch tall tire so going a little taller shouldn't be a problem.
Good Luck
