Subject: Have you ever watched your truck IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone ever let someone else drive their truck without you in it and watched them go down the road? My wife does but I never really paid attention until yesterday. I was working in the yard and watched as she drove of in it and it was the first time I really watched my truck moving without being in the drivers seat. It really gave me a different view than looking at it just sitting still. Have always thought in the back of my mind that it still looked a little small even with the lift. When I saw it drive off yesterday, it was like, DANG, that thing looks huge and mean! No wonder Miata's and VW's dont like me to be behind them or next to them on the road. Just wondering if anyone else has done that. If you havent, do it. Let someone else drive off down the road in it. It will give you a different perspective on how your truck looks and what it looks like to others when you are driving it down the road.

Message: Heh .. nope never tried that probably because I don't trust anyone enough to drive my truck. Maybe if I run really fast next to it I'll get the same effect......

Message: A friend of mine has a F-350 Quad Dually to pull a six horse trailer. It makes me feel quite insignificant to park beside. I haven't watched anyone drive my truck before... I did watch someone riding my horse one time when I had a hairline fracture in my leg... it was the weirdest feeling, kind of like an out-of-body experience!
My truck is just the right size to look down on those obnoxious rice boys though!

Message: I had my best friend accelerate from a stop to 100, redline in all gearss. It sounded soooo goood! The he used compression to slow down;). After this I had himdrive by me in 4th gear pinned, like 4-5000 rpm. About 105. It looked sooo good bearing down on you and sounded awesome. If you find someone you trust, do it. This was of course done on a closed tack with approved safety equipment and helmets.;)

Message: I know exactly what you mean Hawk.Had my older brother drive mine down the road because first I can't,second wanted to see how the new SS grilles looked. You look at your tuck totally different when you see it coming toward you with those 32's sticking out(yes I know I'm still small)and that v8 rumble. It just doesn't get any better than that!!!Looks bigger too!!!!

Message: Try this hawkeye
Drive a ford escort for a week or two. (or any other gas sipping road hugger)Drive it in the city, in traffic
Then get back in your 4x4. Wow this thing is huge, I can SEE over other peoples hoods and most cars roofs. It feels like you're towering over other cars. Just make sure the econo car is a beater and not too quiet. If its too quiet you'll get a bad effect of hearing all the road noise your big 4x4 lets into the cab when you get to drive it.
I get the effect on weekends when I drive my 98 4x4. Because 5 days a week I drive a 95 GMC 1500 extended cab for a work truck. On weekends i am mister 4x4. I get a lot more looks with the DAK too, lots of thumbs up!!!!

Message: My fiance owns a 97 Civic, and I routinely drive it during the week to work and back. After 4 or 5 days in her car, I get back into my Dakota 4x4 and it feels like I'm riding really high. But it always makes me appreciate my truck that much more...
