so im entering my dakota in the mud bogs this year
any one have any tips?
should i use 4-hi or 4 low
i dont think power will really be an issue so i was thinking 4-hi
now should i just put in in Drive or 2?
i was thinking just 1st would not spin the tires fast enough to clean them
and, the launch generally starts in a little bit of mud, so do i launch it or just mash the petal down?

Super,

Are you running down in Glenwood City? I haven't been down there in a couple of years, but if I remember right they like it deep. I vote mash it. Momentum is your friend. How did Fun Fest go for ya?

Later,
Wisco

well, an update
i tore the cv-boot on BOTH sides, i think mud got packed in that area and caught the little tab sticking up on the metal band clamp and pulled the metal clamp off the boot and then it jsut got packed full of mud
anyone have any ideas on how to fix that
i wonder if it would work better if i jsut put a big hose clamp over it instead of the factory one?

and other than that i now know what areas im goign to have to try to cover to keep mud out of EVERYTHING

after 4 runs the front had at least 400 lbs of mud packed into everything, the front suspension was almsot bottomed out it was so heavy.

Super Bee- You running flat track or hill and hole type stuff? I run my 4.7 QC on the flat track. I am consistently placing second. I have taken first once and am planning on doing it again next Saturday. My SCT tuner came in the other day and has just flat brought my truck to life. i have run a best of 4.963 as we stand right now. I am hoping to go somewhere in the 4.5 range. I Also run my truck in drive without turning the overdrive off. It seems to like it like that.

well i have a 2001 with lift kit, body kit, 34x12.50 on 10x15 wheel, i have ran a similar size to what you have, 31x9.50 and 33x9.50 and i had no prpblem with power in 4 hi in deep mud, lots of power and momentom, but now that i have the big 34's when it gets deep in snow or mud it is a little sluggish for power when in 4 hi, so i would run 4 hi and floor it and hold on!!!!
