Subject: my truck is really bouncy IP: Logged
Message: i have a 2001 dak slt 4x4 3.9 v6. the suspension is all stock. i have 76,000 miles, mostley highway. i go camping and fishing often on dirt roads. are there shocks i can buy that can make off roading more plush or do i have to change my whole suspention system? how long should stock shocks last? i drive mostley highway and main routes but on weekends i hit the dirt roads camping and fishing. i drive slow but i think my ride should feel more plush over the little bumps.

Message: Stock shocks were never that good to begin with. First thing I would is change to some Rancho RS5000's. IMO, best bang for the buck. Monroe Reflex are also very popular.
Second, what is your tire air pressure? Too much pressure will really make the ride harsh; especially off road. Off road, your pressure should be in the 15-20psi range.
