Message: I have tried to talk to gearing co. but simply dont have the time to stay on hold. I have a 1990 Dak, 3.9L V6. % in.s of lift and running 31x10.50x15. I also have a couple hundred extra pounds of extra weight due to grill gurad, roll bar, my sound system, etc. I want to do a gear swap but simply dont know what gears to go with. The stock 3.21's aren't cutting it. I have been told to go with 3.92s or 4.10s. I do a small bit of mudden but mostly drive on to road to work and class. Please give me any feed back you can. I am just looking to gain back some of the power I lost with the installation of larger tires. Thanks

Message: Joe,
410s are too much, especially if you need to commute with it. I'd recommend 392. You'll see improved 'off-the-line' response and will still be able to drive to work and class under 5000 rpm :-). You might lose a tiny bit of gas-mileage but hell, it's a truck. As long as it's not a two-speed auto, you'll be fine with 392s. :-)
Good luck!
