Subject: remove and turn tbars in front socket? IP: Logged
Message: Is it true that if you remove the torsion bar and turn it and place it back in the front socket that it will give you more lift than just turning up the bolts? My bolts are turned up all the way but when I lift my plow the truck squats too far and the mount almost touches the ground. My be only an inch between the back of the A frame and the ground.

Message: I would suggest replacing your torsion bars with the stiffest available. As far as I know the 2000lb V8 bars are the stiffest available. If your anchor bolts are adjusted all the way already then your torsion bars are sagging a fair bit and are now weak and could break. I doubt you could re-index the torsion bars like you asked because you would be turning the bar 1/6th of a turn. Like I said above, I would suggest the 2000lb V8 bars so you could carry the plow at a descent height and not have the anchor bolts tightend all the way resulting in a harsh ride because you are riding on the rebound bump stops all the time when you are not carrying the plow. Be sure to ask for the 2000lb bars and not just V8 bars because there are less stiff bars available for the V8's. I priced out these bars before and my price was $191.00 each Canadian. Oh.....and they are different part numbers left and right. I hope this helps.

If any one has any questions about putting air ride in thier 2wd dakota or any other questions about 2wd's ask away.
I have a 2000 2wd reg cab. I have made it convetable added an rt drive train. I put in full air ride to lay frame customized the interior of the box, cab and much much more. Now playing with my 03 harley davidson nighttrain It will all soon be a full matching set 2wd, 4wd, and bike. All black with pearl white goast flames.
