I'm curious how you guys keep your flags from getting torn up. I sure see a lot of people driving around with shredded flags on their car antennas. Seems disrespectful to me. I saw a guy driving around with a gigantic flag mounted in the bed of his truck. It was dragging on the pavement. Made me sad to see it that way.
There is some good information on flag etiquette at:
http://dir.yahoo.com/Government/U_S__Government/National_Symbols_and_Songs/American_Flag/Etiquette/
I have a flag decal in the rear window of my truck.

Message: Roger that J.C. I understand everyone's need to display the flag, but make sure it is done correctly. I see flags all the time that are torn up or laying on the ground when people park their trucks. If you're going to display the flag, make sure you display it with respect, dignity and in good taste.

Message: Thanks Audio.....good point.
I had a flag on my truck prior to and a 'Euro Style' USA sticker also. It makes me sad yet happy to see all the "closet patroits" I did add a flag to the rear view mirror.

Message: I have taken the flag out of the truck bed at night and when it rains. As for the ragged flags...I agree wholeheartedly. At the first sign of shredding, mine gets replaced. I have never let one get beyond reasonable repair. Winter is upon us, so I'll probably quit with the big one: but the window ones will stay until they fade--and the decals until they need replacing.
I plan to get one of the heavy duty "hurricane/bad weather" flags for the truck bed by spring.

Had a black POW-MIA ribbon on it too but it hazed the clear coat. Also got a sticker on the battlewagon that reads "My President Is Charlton Heston."
How deep can that pond possibly be?
