Message: Hey I have a 2000 reg cab 2wd I have done this you can adapt the origonal early moddle soft top to work. The top leaves room for improvment in the looks, but it does work. How ever I chose to leave mine as a hard top using the factory roof. many difrent clips can be used to hold it down. How ever it will never be a perfect seal for the rain. A good tip when you do the doors make two cuts on the front pillar one in line with the new cut of the roof and the other lower. The weld the cut section to the cab and smooth it all in this will allow for the seem to be down the pillar and harder for the rain to get in. trust me. The roll bar is your choice. If you put one in make sure it ties to the frame, other wise it will do nothing. I dont have one as it would not go with the look I wanted. The full frame underneath keeps the stuctural stregnth of the truck. P.s that body style looks cool chopped. If I knew how I would send you pics. (computer illitterat)

Message: It will be noisy, drafty, change the looks significantly, and will leak every time it rains. You'll need to add roll bars and stiffen the body in other areas, and that will increase the weight. It's a lot of work, and not cheap.
But it will be really cool. I say go for it :)

Message: Like I said earlier. I have done it. It is no noisier the your everyday convertable. The full frame your truck comes with is strong enough. I have air ride in my truck I bounce it drag it and race it. It takes more abuse then most off road vehicles. I have done this my self not hard or expensive, But you do have to be tecnical in thinking there are certain spots you want to cut and spots you dont. My truck has been this way for 3 years with no problems.
Hears a run down on my truck.
2000 reg cab v6
swapped out for a punched out 360 and full drive line.
It's now a convertable the roof never went up last summer.
Air ride 1/2" vavles and lines this thing pounds the ground so hard you can feel it 3' away no stress marks or cracks in the frame.
I c noched the rear frame 10" for the axle no twisting.
Full body kit
custome inteior and inside the box
NO ROLL BAR REQUIRED
All done by me and my freind plus more
Dont worry go for it just be smart on you cut measure twice cut once. The capping of the open space between the inner and outer panels is what will make or brake the look. Use my tip on the door pillars. It will help with the rain abit, but yes it will leak some. After all its no stock.
Be sure to check the laws in your state on relocating the seat belts. In Canada they must reamain in the stock locatoin or you must use a saftey rated 4 point harness legal for street use. Plus you must re-certify the vehicle. I know cause I got a modified seat belt fine. When I whent to court I whent prepared. Charges dropped.
I you want it do it.
P.s. That body style to me looks hot topless. Many people stop me to say their toughts, Some good some not my veiws but hey everybodies got their own thing. Judges give me great points.

If you push a button on the front of the computer, a small tray comes out. You can put your pictures in there, push the button, and they get sucked into the computer. It doesn't work on mine, I guess I don't have the right software.
I know, I was shocked, too! I always thought it was a handy cup holder.
