sucks i know, but, you gotta do what you gotta do
you may be able to do a salid axle swap for cheaper if you do all the work yourself and only have the driveshafts made
1990 sport RC SB, 1995 318drivetrain, 3.92 gears (came with truck) Powertrax "traction system", 95 dash/steering wheel, hearthrob exhaust, headers, cutout after y-pipe, necessary electric fan add-a-leafs, 30x9.5 mud tires, cranked T-bars, AR 39 15x8 rims, grill guard, roll bars

Message: How much difference is there between the gen 1 or 2s and the gen 3 4x4s I just sold a 92 and just bought a 99 with the 3in rancho lift have had both up on lifts in the dealer that i work at and it didn't look like any real differeces to me. Never had them sitting side by side but it looked like the same swaybar setup, same lower control arms, looked like same uppers, looked like same frame. The only thing i saw that is different is the front axle 7.25 in the older ones and dana 35 in the newer ones. Anyone tried or know of someone who tried to put a gen 3 lift on a gen 1 or 2? the tough country 5 1/2in lift for gen 3 is only about $1350. Taller and cheaper than the only lift available for early models. I went through 2 sets of spider gears in my 92's front axle so if you had to change the front axle to the dana 35 you would probably be doing yourself a favor.
Anyone know if gears, lockers, and posi's out of jeep rear dana 35s will fit into gen 3 front axles?
