Subject: what rear end IP: Logged
Message: i'm looking at genuine gear quick-loks for my 2001 4.7 4x4.
they seem to be offered for the dana 35 and the dana 30 axles.
is it possible to put these on my truck? i don't know what these axles are on or if the dakotas have these or whatnot.
thanks

Message: The truck either has a 9.25 or an 8.25 rear axle the 8.25 has 10 cover bolts and the 9.25 has 12 cover bolts
the dana 35 was used as the front axle starting in 97 and i'm not sure when ended but a dana 35 will have a dana emblem and model number stamped onto the cover.
advice: stay away from automatic lockers(detroit, powertrax, quick lock,) in the front if it's a daily driver.

Message: '00 front is corporate IFS, not Dana; '01 likely the same. PB's rear advice is good, the corporate 9.25" rear also has octagonal shape - neither are Dana.

Message: You said the front axle from 97-99 is a dana 35?
Will gears, lockers, and lsd's available for jeep rear Dana 35's fit into Dakota front 35's?
