Message: 2wd is perfect for prerunning but you must realize something before you decide to do a dakota prerunner and that is there are no longtravel kits on the market as of yet. Atomic Motorsports Concepts is supposed to be making one this year but we'll see. Any suspension will have to be fabbed by you or by a shop if you want something better than the fabtech 3inch suspension lift.

Message: Yea i have a friend that could help me cage and fab up a suspension. He just finished his ranger and did a great job, although im sure his ranger would be nothing like my dak. Would you happen to know of any resources on the net to see the best suspension details or is it pretty much however you want to do it? and around how much it would cost, which i have heard is going to be alot haha

Message: That's good that you have someone that knows how to fab, i'm just now getting into fabbing my own rear suspension and changing the front a bit. The best resources are just to look at how others have done their suspensions so look up prerunners.net and look at camburg for ideas, that's what i have been doing. Ya it will cost a lot even if you do all of the work yourself but it'll be well worth it in the end. Here's how my truck has come along so far, i do have 3 hella ralley 4000's on it now

Message: so far it's only a fabtech 3 inch in front and stock out back but in a couple of months i'm gonna be welding in some uniballs for the upper A-arm since i'm tired of ball joints going out and then i'm gonne do fox shox all around and take off the bump stops and do limiting straps and cut the coil bucket back a bit so it will clear another couple of inches of travel, then the rear i'm gonna give deaver springs a call and have them make me some custom springs and make some shock towers for the bed but like a said still a couple of months off.

Message: i would recomend the fabtech for now, that is if you are planning on having it for a while. if you are looking for something for just a couple months to get you by until you do a fabricated front end i would say wait and save your money. you should get a couple more inches of travel out of the front but it will be a stiff front end also, not exactly ideal.
