Subject: What width 33's with a 3in BL?
IP: Logged

Message:
Recently I bought a 1997 5.2 4x4 with some well worn 32 BFG T/A KOs. The truck doesn't have a lift and I believe torsion bars are in stock locatons. Since I will need some new tires soon, I'm thinking about a 3 in BL and a set of Eagle Alloy rims. I want to stick with the BFG's and go to 33's. I'd like the 15x10 Eagle alloys. What width tire do you suggest to work with a 15x10 rim? Would a 33x12.5 fit or only a 33x9.5? Also, I'm probably going to crank down my torsion bars with the lift. Would I need to crank them down to fit the tires? Thanks for your replies.

i have a 97 dak 4x4 with a 3 inch body while riding on 33x12.50r15 ssr's and it looks good.
32 might be pushing itfor stock but if seen people scoot on 31's without rubing to bad. my 33's only rub at full turn lock.but heres the kicker. my 33x12.50's on stock rims and there not bowed in at all i couldnt believe it but stock rim size is fine if moneys tight.

tell me about those bfg mt's i want to get some for my next set.

It's good to know everything in the plan will work out. How hard was it to install the body lift? Easy enough for a newbie with some mechanical knowledge? Thanks

When I started my project I've read that the 15X10 rims may cause those 33's to rub. No experience just going off what I've read. I bought my 32's before I did the BL and I wish I woulndt have but I really needed the tires and at the time I hadn't decided if I wanted the lift or not. Wish I would've waited and got 33's but oh well. When I need new tires that's what I'm goin with. BL isn't hard to install just takes a little time. Nothing you coulndt finish in a day by yourself. Did it when I was 19 with some mechanical knowledge so you'll be just fine.
