I went in today to order the trailmaster 4" to put on my truck but the guy said that Rancho makes a 4" to for these trucks. I was like what? But he showed me in the catolog that their was one... so now i have to check around prices again... HOW COME I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS LIFT BEFORE.. Any ideas or thoughts... This is a 1st. Sure it was not a misprint? I just looked at their website and saw no mention of it.

I do know that the guy who has the site: http://www.utahwest.com/Truck/fourwheeling.htm had Tuff Country do a prototype for him back in the early '90s, but I don't believe they ever produced it for the public (too bad). I would be asking about a price and confirmation that he can get it. Question the differences in the kits if any. I always wondered how much modifcation would need to be performed to get the 1st Gen III kits (of any brand) to fit a Gen II.

Good Luck! Keep us posted...

What is so different about the 1st set of Gen IIIs from the Gen IIs? I thought the 97-99s still had steering boxes. Wasn't it 2000 when they switched to rack and pinion? They were all torsion bar suspension with an aft sway bar on the front end. I just don't know if the control arms were the same size or the frame was wider/ narrower, etc. No matter, I have had the Trailmaster kit on for several years now.
