Subject: New wheels/Old wheels IP: Logged
Message: I just put in my order for some 164 Ultra wheels, I have stock mag wheels for a 99'Dak.
My question is, should I keep the old mag wheels for winter use(up here in Canada) cause of the salt and sand on the roads? Will they oxidize too much or can aluminum mag wheels take a good beating without too much problem?
I want to try and sell my old wheels for some extra cash for some headers or a programmer down for road. Anybody have any problems with polished aluminum wheels getting all fcuked up in the winter?
Any suggestions would be great.

Message: winter salt will eat polished alum alive. They will be tough to keep looking good. I would keep the old wheels for winter use.
BTW, "mag wheels" is an old guy term, meaning magnesium wheels. Which nobody uses anymore.
