Well, due to our current deluge of rain, we ave lots of soft wet dirt, water holes, and MUD here in the lovely sunshine state. After work yesterday I came across a few trucks near my house in a slight predicament. An older model K-5 blazer was sitting nose up wit his posterior under water in a mud hole near my house. His rear axle and receiver hitch were both on the ground and his rear tires were free wheeling under water. His front end would not engage because he had the older hubs that need the tires to turn 10 ft. before they would engage. A 2wd chevy had attempted to get to him to try and pull him out. Couldnt even get close before he got stuck. It was extremly wet, soft and soupy where they were. I figured there was no better time to give the Dak a really good test since I was close enough to walk home if needed. I hooked up to the 2wd first to get him out of my way and have more room to work on the blazer. He had an open rear and is axle was resting on the ground as well. With basically no help from him I drug him all the way out, my Dak pulling like a champ. All everyone kept saying was DANG! Got him out of the way and hooked up to the blazer. Started pulling. And pulling. And pulling. I couldnt budge him. I was very impressed with my tires though as they were clawing relentlessly. Even dug myself down a bit more than I had wanted to, but when I unhooked from the blazer I was able to drive right out. Kept trying for about an hour and never could get him out. As for my truck, I was EXTREMELY pleased with it. Forgot to mention that I also had to pull out a Bronco II that got stuck trying to assist. Turns out he didnt even have a front driveshaft in so he had no 4wd. These tires did great. They really pulled through the muck. Everyone watching kept commenting on what an awesome truck that Dakota is. Told them to next time to buy a Dak and then they wouldnt be in this situation.
Apparently as I have said about chevy's before, they are true to their advertising and really do sink "Like a ROCK".

So how did he end up getting out? Also do you have a winch?

I dont have a winch Knobby. Wouldnt have helped much anyway. It wouldnt have helped much anyway as the way he was stuck it would have pulled me to him and there wasnt anything to anchor my truck to that would have been strong enough either. I dont know how he got out but I assume that some bigger trucks stopped and got him out. Would have taken at least 2 fullsize trucks with good mud tires and strong motors. I had the power just not the weight.
