Subject: VIBRATIONS!!! IP: Logged
Message: Okay my truck rolled over 143,000 miles and maintinence is going to be in need i'm sure. I recently took it out on the expressway again. (my way to school) And i get a BIG vibration.... this would be at 65-75. I also get a crazy vibration fro 20-35 Its different every time depending on how fast i accelerate... It barely shakes at all if i get on it. But now even 45 i was getting a vibration today... Any thoughts... I know my truck needs an alignment... Its not bad but it is noticable from the steering wheel.
My truck is a 93 Dakota CC, 4x4 5.2 CC 31X10.50's
I would really like any input at all please! Thanks for your time!
O i've given thought into maybe wheel bearings in the front maybe??? I really don't know!

Message: Well okay i went and bought... 4 new tires and got them balanced and put on... 31X10.50R15 Cooper M+S... I needed a snow tire where i live. Got the truck aligned and am putting in a new steering arm... Fixing all this should hopefully put my truck back to normal standards.. Sadly i'll miss the sound of my old tires with the big lugs!... Until spring i have to wait to put them back on.

Message: In most cases viberation up to 45 is wheel alignment. Above that is balance. Your looking in the right (normal ) places
SO many problems .... So little time

Message: Well okay now its my driveshaft! So i went and got it rebalanced and aligned and amazingly only cost me 64 bucks! Okay so thats out of the way and will fix my vibrating problem for sure! 100% sure heh! Anyways now i come to find out when the u-joint failed and my driveshaft "flailed around" it bent the mainshaft in the transfercase to the point where i cannot get the driveshaft back in without hitting the seal in the expansion housing! SOOOO i need to rebuild my NP231!!! Any thoughts or comments?

Message: Well got the truck back! It only took one day for the shop to rebuild the case! Only cost me another 397! Which i think is really good! Well all these things really fixed my problem! No vibrations! Steering is tight and the ride and traction is great thanks to the new tires!
Hope this helps someone if they have the problems i've had!
