Subject: Wheel and lift question IP: Logged
Message: I have a 94 3.9L standard cab dakota 4x4. right now I run 31x10.50r15 mud terrains on 15x8 wheels that I believe are just stock backspacing. First I was wondering, what is the stock wheel spacing for my dakota? and second, could I fit 33x10.50's with a 2" body lift and maybe some wheels with 1 to 1.5 inches more backspacing to prevent tires from rubbing frame. Any help would be appreciated.

Message: I believe stock backspacing is 5.5". You will be able to fit them, but you may need to do some trimming on your front vallance and inner fender wells as they could rub also. If you don't do your trimming your tires will crack and split them, I have seen this happen.
You should look into Pro Comp 1069 aluminum wheels with 3.75" of back spacing, they are a reasonable price.
Also with a V6 you will probably lose power and mileage with bigger tires.
