Subject: Is it broke? IP: Logged
Message: while out on my first offroad trip ever i tried cutting across a soggy pasture and burried my 93 4x4 Dakota in to the frame rails. when i went to hook up the tow strap to the recovery hooks, surprise... no recovery hooks. the only thing i could wrap it around was the front axle tube. the 2000 GMC 1/2 ton 4x4 pulled me out no problem but could anything have gotten tore up?

Message: Probably not if he didn't jerk on the tube. I wouldn't worry about it, unless you can tell there is something different when driving.

Message: thnks for the help 87Dakota. when he pulled me out he used steady even pressure but i do notice that now when i am going down the road, my truck wants to go to the right a little more than it did before. it's also the same side of the truck where i wrapped the strap around the axle.
