Subject: Axle Swap and the Odometer IP: Logged
Message: I swapped a Dana 44 in the front and a Dana 60 into the rear of my 98 Dakota and now my odometer doesn't work. The stock odo had a pickup on the ring gear in the rearend. Has any one done this or a similar type swap and got the odo working? I am open to anything.

Message: Not sure about your odometer, sorry.
But where did you get your axles from for the swap and was it hard to do and how long did it take.
How much fabricating did you have to do to get everything to fit.

Message: I got the diffs from a local drivetrain shop. They were off a 79 F250. I built the diffs myself and had a local 4x4 shop due the suspension. They did coils and radius arms for the front suspension. They had only 50 man hours total to do the front and rear. There were no real problems in builting it.
