 Subject: Body Lift Questions

I'm planning on doing a 3" body lift very soon. I have a couple of questions. First, could I do the job with the help of a friend? The kit itself is only $200-$300, and I don't feel like spending a bunch of money for a shop to do it. What's the basic process of performing the installation? I know it requires lifting the bed off the frame, but what about the cab?
Secondly, what would be the max tire size? I know 33s will fit no problem. Would 35s fit (with front torsion bar crank)? Thanks a lot, guys.
