Message: What is the down side to putting 2" lift blocks in the rear and cranking the torsion bars up 1.5 to 2 inches ( aside from needing an alignment and it being hard on your balljoints).Total cost being about 100-150$ to get 2 inches, but the cost if a 3inch suspension lift is 1600-1800$.
that means I would be paying 1500$ to get 1 - 1.5 inches of lift.
Is it too much to crank the torsion bars 1.5-2"
I have seen some guys on this site saying that they have cranked the torsion bars up 2".

How much of a lift did you get with your torsion bars cranked?
I already ordered the blocks so I would also like to know how it looks, And were you still able to get a proper alignment with 2 inches of lift?

Message: Almost 2", no problem at all to re-align afterward. Some have claimed our Daks are hard to align; but my freind who is an alignment specialist has never mentioned them being a problem, so I doubt it. I think there's just a lot of hackers out there who don't really know what they're doing. He was able to measure on his rack better than when I cranked them up out in the yard, I had one side raised slightly higher than the other.

Message: Sounds like a pretty good way to get around the expesive lifts for the IFS systems.
Let me know how everything works out, I should really start considering doing the same if it gives pretty close to the same look as a 3" Rancho (minus all the drop bracketsand new stuff).
Please keep me informed.

Did you ever have to replace your ujoints from the extra strain of the new drive shaft angle or is 2" still within limits.
I've been thinking about getting the heavy duty ones, or should I leave the ujoints as the weakest link instead of putting that responsibility on the pinions ends.
Sorry about all the questions, just want to get as much info as possible to make sure all goes well while doing the lift.

Message: Nope, been plowing this truck lifted for 5 years (also lifted about 2" in back with Roadmaster active suspension) and haven't had any worn out parts. I tow too; still original parts. Ask all the questions you want, we've all learned from others here.
