Message: I want to lift my R\T, but the Doestch lift will comes with shackles in the rear. This means that naturally because the R\T came with lower height springs i would not be able to achive the same ammount of lift as a regular Dakota, right? Is there any other components that i should be aware of before i try to lift it, like in the front end?

Message: The only reason i can see him wanting to lift his truck is because of the engine size, if i recall the r/t has the 5.9 in it but its overkill for mild offroad driving. The 5.2 is enough.

Message: Im not mild offroad driving. Im a desert junkie stuck in a midsize street racer's body.I wanted to lift it because of its massive engine and ability to tear the livin tread off a 35" tire! I plan to tear it down to the cab and put the engine in the rear of the cab, but,I cant do that yet do to the $$$, so i have to settle on a wimpy 3 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift. I just need to know the diff between the R\T and the other models suspension.Ill possibly want to trade the whole R\T setup for a stocker then build it up.

Message: the only difference is the spring height and tension ............ the arms are the same ....If you are going to lift it you're gonna replace the springs and the upper control arms .............The doestech kit is the same as the fabtech minus the upper ball joits and add a leaf ...............the height will be determined by the new spring , make sure the spring is for a v8 truck and not v6 , fabtechs are different between the two ..............

Message: Also if your into prerunning you might as well leave the add a leaf out.... If your in the air you want the back to hit before the front or actualy all of them land at the same time but when adding the leaf it will stiffen the suspension. BAD FOR OFFROAD DRIVING IN THE SAND. Some people i've heard even take one of the leafs out of the pack. Anyways shackles or even blocks may be better for the back half of the truck. If you want to see a sweet r/t check this out.

Message: Thanks, that was exactly what i needed to know! My only other question is, will the R\T swaybars (front and rear) fit or will i have to trade those as well for some stockers?

Message: the rears will be ok , the front , you will have to loosen the arms that bolt up to the lower control arms and put about an inch spacer so they won't be so tight and give you more articulation ...............
