Message: Hey shock it looks great but whats really needed here is a "desert camo" paint job to achieve total perfection.Just kidding...your right though in putting it thru the paces on the roads first then go over everything and make sure its all tight and nothings wrong, cause its gonna cost less for a tow on the street than out in the middle of nowhere if something breaks,All in all fantastic looking truck.

Message: Its been so long i would say the main desert sand color was about 50 bucks cause it was automotive paint,i sprayed it on with a spray gun, the rest i did with camo brown shaker cans at 2.75 each and trust me i know nothing about painting but as long as it had a dull no-shine finish and no runs i was happy. Then i took the shaker cans and just did whatever...i didnt really care what it looks like as long as i can hide it in the desert, but all in all i thought it came out great, although it gets alot of stares on the road most people on the freeway give it a thumbs up,one guy in camo pants, checking his mail on the sidewalk when i went by even snapped to attention and popped me a salute, now that was funny. But i never wash it,maybe just a quick hose rinse i never wax it and its been maintenance free for about two years now.I am glad you like it "JB".When i update my cardomain photos i will post up what it looked like before it was the same blue as this dakotas.com website...it stuck out like a sore thumb in the desert.
