well well, do i have the valuable info that you have all been waiting for!?? yup, lift news!! and i'm not talking about the wimpy 3" rancho lift, but actually a 10" IFS suspension lift for all the 2000 dakotas and durangos! I was at pismo beach this weekend and even got to see a durango running 36's. SO if you want to go BIG, contact me for the whiplash suspension kit(with lifetime guarantee)i'm a retailer. Jesse Taylor- Pro Tint and Offroad, Buellton, Ca. The lift runs approx $2,600 for the front with rear leafs. Call me...(805)350-0276

$2,600 sounds a bit steep ... even for a 10" lift. I'm curious to see what parts are included anyway....and a copy of the installation instructions. If you have a minute, shoot me an email with more info. I'll take a look at what you have.

Thanks

obviously this is a complete front solid axel swap that is required. The reason for this is he is offering solid leaf springs, if it were IFS it wouldn't have leafs....

I just went to truck world and did some reading. Man, people over there are RIPPING this company. Seems as recently as 2 months ago they were raided and charged in some major insurance fraud, auto theft rings, etc. I have owned a 4x4 my entire driving life, and have been reading 4x4 magazines since 1991 and I have never heard of them. Seems strange they have never been advertised or featured. I guess when it comes to my trucks suspension I just want to stay with a large, well known company with a good reputation and good engineers. Just my personal pref.

Mike, your from Conneticut? I'm in California, I don't know of anybody or shops on the east coast who will do installs on lifts over there. But I know a couple of shops that'll do them here in Cali. Did you ever see the Big Red Mopar Monster Durango that was on the front cover of OFF-ROAD Mag.? It had a tuff country 5.5in, and a 3in. body, and was rollin 38x15.50 tsl swampers, maybe you can fit 39.5's on the lift your planning to do. I have 35x12.5's on my durango withh 15x8 Weld Typhoons, hopefully I can get a pic up soon.

Hey Guys! I found you guys while looking for a website on Yahoo. I just wanted to let you know alittle bit about Whiplash Performance Products. I am from the fresno area, where Whiplash is located. Whiplash has currently closed their doors, due to a few different things, both owners are in jail for insurance fraud. I can honestly say there suspension products, are pretty good. Even though the first lift they put under a truck consisted of two 6 inch lifts welded together. I would buy there products but NEVER let them install them. There is a new place in Fresno which sells Whiplash lift kits and from what my freinds have told me they to pretty damn good work, there name is INSANE OFFROAD - (559)294-7370. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. See ya

Hmmm ... two 6" lifts welded together ... why didn't I think of that? lol

Ummm .. all things being equal, and besides the fact that the owners are in the lockup, I think I'll pass on the whole Whiplash thing altogether. It all sounds just too bizarre for my liking.

Has anyone at all read anything GOOD about this company or their products?

The body lift will raise the entire body 3" and does not change ANY of the suspension. So basically your truck will sit the same only the body will be higher. If you want to "level" the truck in the front, you can get 2" coil spacers really cheap and that should make it even. When I installed my Fabtech suspension lift, it actually leveled the truck out and raised it 3".

And YES, you can do it yourself (I installed mine) as long as you have basic tools and a general knowledge of trucks. If you do a coil spacer kit, you WILL need a "coil compressor" to do the job. From what it sounds like, if you want a cheap way to get 31's or 32's on your truck, I would go with this:

3" Body Lift ($175)
AND
2" coil spacers ($85)

If you do it yourself, thats under $300 and your truck would be level!! Install prices are usually around $500 for lifts so...

These are just MY ideas, so I hope it helps out a little. If your looking at good prices for all this stuff, go to JCWhitney.com, thats where I ordered my lifts from and they were great!
