Subject: Steering IP: Logged
Message: steering shaft seems to have a lot of play when not moving the wheel.i grabbed a hold of it by the power steering gear box and could move it back and forth. is this normal?

Message: No. But it wears out after a while. Try and figure out exactly where the excess play is coming from. R&P, rag joint, intermediate shaft, tie rods, etc.

Message: 99 5.2 4x4 3in body lift. it is in the shaft that connects to the steering gear box. it wiggles around and when i stop it makes clicking and popping noises and as i turn.kinda like bad ball joints but i checked them, they are fine. would worn out front shocks cause more play from the suspension sagging a little?
