Message: Well I got my lift and rims today,I will be droping off my tires tomarrow to be mounted.I went with the same set up as Hawk except I'm going to use my 32s right now until after the first of the year. Only thing that sucks is I'm having to replace one of my 32s becuase the back side wall is messed up but I will have to wait until next week to do that, have to have it inspected to see if it is a manufacturing defect.Other that me and Hawk will be installing the lift this Sunday, and I plan on taking lots of pics.Ah yes I can picture it now!!!!!!Let the lifted Dakotas roam the land and spread fear unto all thing that wear a bow-tie!!!!!!!

Message: Blizz,Igot the black 15x8 American Racing like the ones John got, alot cheaper that aluminum rims, thay were around 38 dollars and they look sweet on the sport package trucks scince we dont have any chrome.Dacoada, there will be plenty of pics, told my wife to buy 2 rolls of film.I called the place back today and got them to add the lift lips to my order for inside of the fender wells to cover up the gap. They make a big difference in hiding the fact that you have a body lift, also they protect the engine.Well I have to pick everything up tomarrow, and have to wait until Sunday to install,if I can make it that long!!!!!!!!

Message: I am green with envy. I would love to do all this. I guess I should just be happy that I have a Dakota. We are a select few. I saw a lifted dak yesterday. Must have been a 98 or 99, because it had a suspension lift. It looked great. Mine is the only regular cab that I have seen in person. Has anyone seen a regular cab with a lift?
Thanks,

They gave him the wrong lift kit yesterday for his truck. We were getting everything set up last night for today and we happened to notice that it wa the wrong one. Its for a 97-99 Dak and doesnt have enough blocks and the right steering ext, rear bumper brackets, etc. He is going to get them to exchange it tomorrow. He may try to get it on this week or we may wait until next weekend to do it. Anyway, slight delay.

any diff in the way the truck rides or handles?

Message: You'd have to do a 3" body 7 a 3" suspension lift to clear 35's.. trust me I've bothered everyone enough about tires. Hawkeye is trying to run 33's after his 3" body lift and it sound like it's working now. If you want to run 35" wait till the 3" suspension lift is out do that & the 3" body lift. or wait till the 6" suspension lift is out and do that. I think I'm going to go the body lift route but I'll make the final dicision when money becomes available.

Message: Bill,
Knobby is right. You would need both lifts to run 35's. As for ground clearance, I gained a little over a half inch under the axles by going to the 33's from the 32's. You dont help you frames clearance because you arnt lifting it any. You do however really help your approach and departure angles and get the body up away from danger as much.

Message: You allready had 32`s on before hawk? It
almost hardley seems worth going to 33`s
even goin from the stock 30.5`s to 33`s doesnt
seem that great to me.Although your truck
looks great hawk I think I only want to buy rims
and tires once, think I will wait till we can slide
some 35`s in there. Thanks for the response

Message: I had 32x11.50's on the fact 15x7 rims. Although it doesnt seem like it there really is a big diff between the 32's and 33's. 4 more inches of rubber on the ground is a lot more flotation and traction. The extra 1/2 inch or so clearance under the axles can make the differance between getting hung up or not. The numbers dont really do them justice. I dont blame you though for only wanting to do the tires and rims once.

Message: im pretty sure if you do go to 35's you will need some new gears as well turning the 35's might be much depending on what size gears you have already and going up in tires makes a big difference as well as what tires you buy

But one question I have is how much will my milage drop with the new 33's. Is it worth talking about or are we looking at a +10% drop in fuel milage. Just for info, I have a 99CC 4X4 3.55 with 31X10.5 tire pkg and a 318ci.

Message: Well fellas thought I would let you know what has happened over the last couple of days.First my computer is down,I have to take it in to have them look at it so for now its the work computer I have to use.Anyway John has already told you about the problem with my lift.Well Sunday I got John's instructions and began taking everything off of my truck ,I figured all I would do was on Monday was exchange the lift for the right one and already be ahead of the game, well I figured wrong!!!!!!!!!!After following the instructions I got to the point that it was time to install the lift so I stopped and waited until Monday.Well Monday I got up early so I could be there when the store opened to exchange the lift,I got there and told them they gave me the wrong lift,They looked at me funny and told me that they would have to call the lift company to get the number.I told them that wasnt going to happen that I was not going to leave without an awnser.I told them to pull up Johns order to get the part number, they did and then proceeded to tell me that it was out os stock and the closest store that had one was Dallas. This Pi##ed me off!!!!!I told them my truck was all torn apart and had to have it!!!!!!The manager came out and told the guy to have it UPSed next day air with a garunteed early delivery. So this is were Im at now waiting this morning to see if my lift comes in so I can finish my truck today.Im having withdraws becuase I havent been able to drive it for the past couple of days, this bites!!!I keep telling myself that to calm down that when it is done it will look great but then I relize that saying that its horse sh#t and I want my lift and I want it now!!!!!!!Sorry uncontrolable fit.Any way I will post tomarrow if I got it done or not or I will have John post somthing tonight.Maybe today I will get lucky.

Message: Well actually I didnt even get the kit for the 2000 dakota,I went to the store yesterday to pick it up and they told me that the Dallas store didnt send it.I wasnt happy the manager said he was sorry and he was having one flown in from Dever,I told him to look at the news that nothing was flying. He told me he didnt think about that and to put the truck back together and he would install the lift for free when it came in.I told him I wasnt going thru all the headache of putting it together without the lift.He asked why the 97-99m lift wouldnt work and I told him because the steering ext. was diffrent ,and i needed 2 more blocks and the rear bumper brackets were diffrent.any way I asked if he had any 2000 durango lifts that we could take the steering peice out of,he said he did and he gave me the Durango lift and told me to use what I needed and if I was miising anything he would give it to me out of the Dakota kit went it came in.All I need to get is the rear bumper bracket. So bacicly I have a 99 dakota and 2000 durango lift on my truck.Everything went fine and Hawk and I finished it around 1700 yesterday.Thank God!!!!!
